Multi-Octave Antenna Radomes

Spiral antenna suite

F-15 ALR-56 Quadrant Warning Antennas

Our F-15 ALR Quandrant Warning antenna suite is a combat proven high quality aviation standard. These DF antennas were designed for the AN/ALR-56 Threat Analyzer RWR system onboard the F-15 Eagle jet fighter. The Wing Tip and Fin Cap assemblies contain Randtron Antenna Systems' RS-2 antennas, incorporating two inch Archimedean spirals. The RS-2 spirals are smaller per wavelength than competitive designs, allowing for the placement of the antenna closer to the radome. As a result, the shorter reflection path improves the antenna bandwidth.

A second innovation incorporated into this assembly was use of a thin skin syntactic-cored radome. The syntactic core features a very low dielectric constant combined with excellent structural properties. The molded construction process results in homogenous parts with outstanding part-to-part consistency. In recent production buys, the F-15 DF system has been upgraded to dual polarization capabilitities on the F-15I with our 2 inch sinuous antennas. Randtron Antenna Systems multi-octave spiral antenna design have also been used for the following applications:

Nimrod/Atlantic End Caps
Mirage V-Rapport II Threat Analyzer
F-16 High Band DF RW System
F-16 ASPJ Antenna
Multi-Arm Spiral
